Crocodile Dock VBS ~ June 15-19, 2009

For their 2nd VBS this summer (sorry, no pics of the first one :-(), Jared & Gracie were able to participate in Crocodile Dock w/some of their good friends from our former church. Jack could have participated in the preschool program this year but instead chose to hang out w/mom. (Maybe next year!) I know J&G had a great time and enjoyed meeting Tuesday, the alligator shown below. (He was the VBS kids' reward for completing their homework that week.) All photos courtesy of Brenda Bailey.

Our friends, Greg & Brenda Bailey. Brenda was Gracie's small group leader this year.

Jared and Stephen checking out the alligator.

I was able to take Jack through to meet Tuesday at the end - how strange his skin felt!

Wouldn't you know, Jack had to poke him in the eye! Apparently, that is not the place to poke an alligator! (Thankfully, Tuesday was muzzled and no one got too upset.) All was forgiven and Jack learned a good lesson that day. At least he only touched the lid and not the actual eyeball.) Brenda and I both saw a strange film come up over the eyeball and then the eyelid close (all as if in slow motion.) When Tuesday opened his eye again, we saw the film come down before we saw the eyeball. Now I'll need to do a study on alligators and why their eyes are that way!
Curious Jack - always up for an adventure. :-)
