"Ku-u-i-po" ~ My Sweetheart: May 29, 2009

Gracie got to go on her first Father/Daughter date night last month! Our church hosted a Hawaiian night for dads and their daughters complete with dinner, dancing, dessert, and a Polynesian show. (That date was actually our 16th wedding anniversary but I was so pleased that Paul wanted to take her, so we opted to celebrate our anniversary the next night.) Gracie was so excited ~ had her dress, shoes and hair planned a week before.

Getting ready for the big night! Gracie loves to have her hair curled with hot rollers.

The result.

Beautiful Bumble Bee! Notice the pretty flower barette in her hair? That was a gift from her Aunt Esther's trip to Hawaii the previous year. Gracie was so
excited to get to wear it.

The proud dad and his princess!
Like Paul's $9 Hawaiian shirt from Wal-mart? (He didn't want to invest too much in case he never wanted to wear it again :-). And yes, a lot of the other dads wore shorts too - it's hot and casual here in PHX!

Upon her return, I asked Gracie how it went; her reply, "It was glorious!" So sweet. What a wonderful memory for both of them!
