Jack's Procedure ~ Dec. 15, 2009
Jack had to have a blue nevus mole removed from his lower lip at Phoenix Children's Hospital last month. "Character Jack" got to practice his skills in bravery and undergo "the knife." (In reality, it was a very small lip punch.) He did great and especially enjoyed the O.R. play area and all the attention showered upon him. Jack had the nurses laughing with his revised stories of "Jack and the Beanstalk" and his never-ending, witty comments. (One had to confirm his identity by reading his wristband and asked him, "Are you Jack Staggers?" "No, " he said stoically, "I'm just Jack." She then called him "Just Jack" for the rest of his visit. :-)"Is he busy?" one nurse finally asked me. "Because if this is how he is coming out of anesthesia, my guess is his baseline is "pretty busy." Good guess, nurse! Gotta love our sweet, exhausting little Jack-boy.
Enjoying his popsicle after the procedure. Jack had informed the nurses that "we were out of popsicles at our house," and that I "would have to go shopping for some over the weekend." In a few more minutes he had invited both of them to our house for posicles on Christmas!
