More Christmas Fun

A friend from Veritas (our homeschooling support group) invited us over mid-Dec. for a different sort of cookie exchange. Bake the cookies at her house while the kids play so the moms could visit, drink tea, and sample the goodies - and then exchange them before going home. What a clever idea! Everyone had a great time and we all went home with some very yummy treats.

The kids melting chocolate on the Overtoom's toffee bars.

Ooooh!

Jack waiting for a sample.

The Dirks' spice cake cookies with vanilla cream cheese icing - yummy!

Firepit at the last AWANA night for the semester. The kids got to make smores, drink hot cocoa, and listen to the leaders tell stories. Even Jack got to go with his Cubbies group.

Gracie playing on the tire swing with one of her friends.

Gracie and "Naked Jack" working on a snowmen craft. Not sure why Jack often refuses to wear clothes in December! It's a good thing we live in the desert.

Paul working with the kids on a gingerbread house/tree kit.

"Naked Jack" helping too!

The finished product!
