Happy New Year!

Wow - have I gotten behind on posts. Hope to catch up a little bit this month (but we'll see how that goes :-).

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and New Year's! This was the first time in many years that we did not have family in town for New Year's Eve (and didn't host some type of gathering,) so we decided to go out this year instead. We started off by taking the kids to see the movie Hugo (which was wonderful.) We had read the book several years ago, so it was neat to see it "come to life" on the big screen. We also made good use of some gift certificates/gift cards and enjoyed Carrabba's for the first time (love, love, love the lasagna) and picked up frozen yogurt from Golden Spoon for dessert! Add in a boatload of fireworks for backyard fun and sparkling Martinelli's to toast at midnight and we had a wonderful family New Year's celebration.

Gracie loves the sparklers

The "big guns"

Each child had a bag of smaller fireworks for themselves - they were in "pyro" heaven!

Martinelli's in pretty glasses to toast in the New Year!

I really enjoyed these "hula hoop" fireworks that danced around in circles.

One of the bigger ones. So glad they're legal in our city!
