Awana Awards Night ~ May 6, 2009

The 3 Amigos: Jared, Gracie & Jack!

Jared & Gracie completed their first year in Awanas and loved it! Gracie attended Sparks (K-2,) and Jared attended T-n-T (Truth-in-Training, for 3rd-6th grades). Awana stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed from 2 Tim. 2:15. Jack missed the age cutoff for joining this year by a couple of months, but he will get to participate in Cubbies next year. Below are some pics with their friends from the club:

Jared proudly displays his participation award and his First Book Award.
Awanas has "books" to complete which consists of LOTS of scripture memorization, exercises to do, and questions to answer. It is one of the few assignments Jared voluntarily works on every day - he loves it! He also completed about 1/3 of the second book for T-n-T, but he'll pick up there again next year. Great job, Jared!

Gracie displays her Participation certificate and her First Book Award for Sparks. Great job, Gracie!

Gracie and her Second Book Award!

Gracie effectively started Sparks a year late (since she was in 1st Grade this year and Sparks begins in Kindergarten,) but she pushed ahead and completed 2 books in one year! Now she is caught up! She worked so hard on this - it helped that she had already memorized the books of the Bible and Ps. 23 last year (they appeared a few times in her Sparks books.) This was a great confidence builder for her this year! Way to go, Gracie, great job!

  2. Which church was this AWANA at? We are looking for a new one for the girls to join on the east side of town.
