Awana Awards Night ~ May 16, 2010

"Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth." 2 Tim. 2:15

Awana - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed
We are so proud of the kids for completing their second year in AWANA last week (Jack completed his first year) and for finishing their individual study books. They worked really hard, diligently hiding God's Word in their hearts week after week. The year ended last Sunday with an awards' night celebration. All the kids received participation awards and those who finished their books received book awards.
Jack onstage with his Cubbie's buddy, Ben. Jack saw this picture and said, "I really love Ben. He is the awesomest guy ever."

Look at that mischievous face . . .

The beloved Mr. Glen, long-time Cubbies leader and one of Jack's best buddies. Mr. Glen helped Jack adjust to Awana this year and made him look forward to attending.

Jack's other beloved teachers, Ms. Kelley and Ms. Susan (Glen's wife)

Gracie holding up her SPARKS sign - she got to recite what the "A" stands for in SPARKS - "According to the scriptures: Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures." 1 Cor. 15:3
"We are SPARKS for Jesus!"

Gracie received her book 3 award in SPARKS - she will move on to T&T next year.

Proud momma with the kids. (Thanks to daddy for taking all the pictures!)

We are very grateful to this year's leaders, many of whom have 20-30 years of service in AWANA. "Well done, good and faithful servants!"
