We attended the kids' AWANA derby car races last Sunday for the second year in a row. They did surprisingly well last year, so we weren't sure what to expect this time - especially with Jack racing (and we all know how upset he can get. :-) All the kids (and dad) worked really hard on their cars despite less working time and frustrating paint issues up until the due date. Nevertheless, everyone had a fun time, and we were really proud of the kids' good sportman-like attitudes.

Jack came in 4th for speed (since there were only 2 Cubbies, they had to race w/Sparks.) But, he got a trophy (2nd place) for design because he was one of the 2 Cubbies particpating. Actually, I think he was more excited about the little Cheerios car he received than he was about the trophy!
