It's ironic that I write this post on a day when the high only reached 65 degrees or so. One very HOT day a couple of weeks ago, we packed some lunches & decided to "pretend" it was fall (97 degrees that day, I believe) and take a trip with some friends to Vertuccio Farms in Mesa. They are "famous" for their 10 acre, creative corn mazes (check these out http://www.vertucciofarms.com/Corn_Maze.html.) Despite the heat, we all had a wonderful time, especially getting to know our new co-op friends, the Crisci family, better. (I lugged around our big camera only to discover I had forgotten a memory card, so Mary graciously emailed me these pictures to capture our fun & sweaty day.)

The Pumpkin Patch

Traipsing through the corn maze, single file. Was it hot with the sun blaring down on us! But it was a very cool maze with 6 different shaped punch cards located in various places. If you got all 6 punches, you could enter a drawing for a $100 Best Buy gift certificate. We found all 6! Well, the boys went back in and found our last one or two punches. They especially liked the independence of going into the maze alone.
We started in and came back out several times to get our bearings.
Jack mostly told stories of dragons hiding in their lairs (located in the maze, of course) and fussed about not getting to be the leader!
Gracie trooping along . . .
Natalie (see the sweat!) and Gracie.
Jared wanted us to pull him in the wagon!
Anthony and Natalie on the barrel train "ride."
Jack made me ride with him - but it was fun!
