A Peek at Our History Co-op (Last Semester)

We are blessed to be part of a wonderful homeschooling co-op that meets Wed. mornings at our church (which very graciously allows us 2 rooms for free!) The kids attend a Spanish class for one hour (we pay per family for a Spanish tutor) and then we all meet for a co-op, where we moms take turns teaching. Paul was finally able to download some pics from my cell phone of one of the co-op classes. (Please forgive the quality of these photos, but I am very glad to have them.) Here are a few shots from last semester when we were studying the history of Europe in the Middle Ages using Story of the World Vol. 2.

The kids were learning about the Islam invasion across Europe and were preparing to make an oasis in the desert.

Mary Crisci had them make a palm tree using rolled up brown paper bags for the trunk and branches and green construction paper for the leaves.

The kids helping to make sand in the desert.

Story time with Mary leading. This is a fun, interactive group.
We are currently (Spring 2010) studying the Properties of Matter in a science co-op with these same families. Pics of that soon to come!
