Mother Nature's Farm ~ Oct. 15, 2010

The kids and I went with our Veritas' friends (our homeschooling support group) to a local farm a couple of weeks ago to enjoy some"fall" activities - or at least pretend like it was fall :-). Of course, Oct. in Phoenix can still be pretty warm, but we had a great time.

Jack & Gracie posing

The pumpkin patch - which was still pretty wet from all the rain we had in early Oct.

Gracie & Jack getting to work decorating their pumpkins. You can see the rest of our group behind them.

Now Jared joins in.

Jared's cool pumpkin

Gracie's (you can also see the jumping house behind her.)

Jack working on his . . .

Partly done . . . (love that smile!)

Deciding to add some more stickers . . .

And more . . . (he didn't seem to care about putting "girlie" stickers on it - the more stickers, the better)

Part of our group on the hay ride. A portion of the ride overlooks a paved vacant lot next door - what you get when you go to a city farm :-). But the hay ride was still fun.

The hay maze (which was suprisingly challenging for the little ones.) I went through it, too, and it took a little brain power :-)

Jared in the hay maze - Gracie & Jack are behind him. I liked how you could still see the kids while they were in the maze.

Mr. Turkey

The big 'ol pig wallowing in the mud.

Gracie & Jack really got a kick out of this pig!

Moo!

Jack never likes to smile (so when I do capture him smiling, it's priceless!)

Hot and tired but a fun morning!
